A pocket-sized map to promote the Via Francigena. This is the objective of the new editorial project realised by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) in collaboration with Studio Guidotti.
The official booklet was illustrated on the 1st December at the presentation of the new EAVF magazine “Via Francigena and the European Cultural Routes” in Susa. The first version was created with the Municipality of Fornovo di Taro in Emilia-Romagna for the promotion of the section from Fidenza to Pontremoli.
The map is bilingual and accompanied by detailed images, the map provides an indication of the main services along the route,a description of the section (km, duration, a brief historical introduction etc.), useful information about the EAVF and touristic offices. Theoutside is customisable and allows you to describe the main artistic and tourist attractions of the places you are interested in.
“It was designed in a format that can involve all of Europe, together with the tourist information offices. – explains the EAVF – It’s a new service aimed at our members and the lands of the Via Francigena. The objective is to make information about the Francigena available to all pilgrims and tourists, and to meet the demand for a tool that enables hikers to review their progress along the route, with specific focus on information on local territory.”
The new EAVF official map is a communicative tool easily available to pilgrims on the road or tourists visiting towns or cities crossed by the cultural route of the Council of Europe. It’s an opportunity to have the Francigena at your fingertips in an updated form that is easy to use.
