Great enthusiasm and participation in Carema (Piedmont) on 23rd February for the inauguration of the information point along the Via Francigena.

The municipal administration guided by Giovanni Aldighieri, organised a ceremony dedicated to the new infopoint realised in Casaforte Gran Masun.

The event saw the participation of local citizens and authorities. Among the present: Daniela Broglio, director of Tourism for Turin and its provinces; Massimo Tedeschi, president of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) and Paolo Facchin, president of the Via Francigena of Sigeric of Ivrea.

The characteristic Piedmontese municipality on the border with Valle d’Aosta is also an EAVF member. For the occasion the stamp was presented which will be placed on the symbolic Pilgrim Passport of Gran Masun and the pilgrim.

Recovery of the medieval structure has not yet finished and the restructuring of some buildings was made possible thanks to a lot of hard work and collection of funds. A building for the infopoint was also realised, a boiler room and first floor intended for a multimedia interactive museum. The building has been equipped with toilet facilities and a lift which will offer access to three floors. The infopoint is currently open at weekends with a voluntary service offered by municipal administration.
