The announcement for a 1st level Master’s Degree in “Cultural Tourism of the Territories” 2018-19 has been published on the University of Parma website, aimed at graduates or Master’s graduates who intend to qualify in the field of cultural tourism. They will become able to elaborate territorial development strategies to support public bodies or private companies.
The Master’s course aims to train “Designers in Cultural Tourism of Territories“, high profile figures to join an organic technical-legal team, for the preparation of cultural heritage and touristic legislation. They will develop in-depth cultural, economic-managerial and communication-information skills essential for the process of touristic development of resources that make up the unique cultural heritage of the areas in which they operate.
Once completed, the Master’s will ensure “Designers” are able to identify strategic growth opportunities of tourism in territories of reference in order to become fully integrated in the process of touristic development in both public and private contexts.
The course will deal with technical-juridical, cultural-communicative and economic-managerial issues, thanks to collaboration between the departments of Law, Political and International Studies, Humanities, Social and Cultural Business Disciplines (DUSIC) and the Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Parma.
The Master’s training course, January to December 2019, a total of 1,500 hours (final exam between January and March 2020), is divided into lecture and seminar teaching, integrative activities of a practical-operational nature and training internships or project work in public and private entities.
The Master’s is aimed at those with a graduate, Master’s or specialised degree. The possession of a bachelor’s degree related to one of the following fields is preferred: legal, political and international relations, humanitarian, sociological, economic.
Registrations for the Master’s course, promoted by the Department of Law, Political and International Studies, must be made online on the University website by 12th November 2018, by clicking on the “Online Registration” banner at www.unipr.it/iscrizioni, selecting “Registration for post-graduate courses and State Exams” and following the guided procedure. The selection test will take place on 21st November 2018 at 10am in Room 1 of the Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza, Studî Politici e Internazionali (via Università, 12).
The master’s is sponsored by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF). The association supports the realisation of training modules and will promote good practice across the European territory of the Via Francigena. It is also possible to begin student training courses and to develop thematic project work related to the Via Francigena.
