“A pilgrim’s winter of 100km”, or L’inverno dei 100 Km del pellegrino, is the title of the first photography competition organised by the Montefiascone Via Francigena Association, in collaboration with the municipalities of Montefiascone and Viterbo and the Viterbo Chamber of Commerce.
The initiative, supported by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways, is for all amateur, non-professional photographers of all ages who, by 4th March, can send one or two photographs of thewinter landscape along thelast 100km of the Via Francigena.
The competition invites you to narrate the last 100km of the Via Francigena through a photograph, describing the territory and its characteristics; notable and undiscovered areas; places that stay with those who see them, who wish they could describe them from a different perspective. Some suggestions linked to Sigeric’s route could be: traditions, events, monuments, nature, popular places, food etc. with a sense of creativity, passion and a splash of irony.
The chosen images will be a part of the photographic exhibition which will take place at the sala degli Almadiani of the municipality of Viterbo from 15th to 17th March 2019 and then at the sala della Rocca dei Papi of he municipality of Montefiascone from 20th to 30th March 2019. The award ceremony will take place Saturday 30th March at 10am in the Rocca dei Papi in Montefiascone.
How to take part: taking part in the competition is free of charge. Each photographer can take part with one or two printed photos in black and white and/or in colour format 30*40 with their full name and title on the back. Photomontages and personal signatures are not permitted, just a little editing. If photographers want to include a title, they may write it on the back of the photograph with the place and take they were taken.
The photos and the complied registration form must be sealed in an envelope and delivered or sent to the photography studio “Lidio Ottica e Fotographia” in Montefiascone, Via Verentana, 28 – 01027, by the 4th March 2019. The photos can also be sent to:viafrancigena100km@libero.it, with the titles of the photographs, place and date they were taken and the participants telephone number.
Three prizes will be awarded: a weekend in a structure in Tuscia; dinner for two at a local restaurant; a basket of typical products from the area.
