The Swiss Federal Office for Culture met in Bern on 23rd August to discuss the different cultural routes of the territory.

This meeting first occurred after Switzerland joined the partial agreement extended to the cultural routes of the Council of Europe in 2012. The eight responsible associations or organisations were reunited at the event, which also saw the participation of the Via Francigena, with the presence of Gaëtan Tornay, vice-president for Switzerland, and Christian Schüelémember and scientific collaborator (photo).

The session enabled the cultural routes to present themselves and to share common issues, such as that of the financing of activities, communication and hospitality. Several reflection points were directed towards the Federal Office, such as the organisation of a biannual or annual meeting to exchange the good practices of each route, the creation of a web portal dedicated to promoting the cultural routes of the Council of Europe of Switzerland, aimed at tourists and experts of the sector.

With their experience in the international field, they aim to actively participate in this network and to share their knowledge on the development of cultural routes in Switzerland.
