The ninth edition of “European Festival of Via Francigena and Routes – Collective Project 2019“. The project proposes a rich day of initiatives to promote and enhance territories crossed by paths and cultural routes of the Council of Europe.
The initiative, under the artistic direction of architect, Sandro Polci, and promoted by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways, in collaboration with Associazione CIVITA, will take place from June to November. This year’s theme will be “The Feminine Francigena. Sensitivity in human and natural landscapes“. Following tradition, there will be a variety of events – from routes to cultural initiatives; from merit studies to villages celebrations; landscape enhancement; natural changes; identifying cultures with numerous “follow-ups” of material culture: artistic and artisanal work, rites, festivals, sharing and conviviality. All this from a feminine perspective, that is, with a new sense of sensibility towards walking, sharing, promoting and thinking.
You can join the project for free, indicating organised events relevant to the theme, which aim to promote in the area between June and November 2019. The Festival will be presented at an official press release in Rome on 1st July.
“After eight years together, our shared journey continues with the aim to be even more plural and open to many new friends on the road. – Confirms Sandro Polci – We therefore ask you to take part in our ninth edition of the “European Festival of Via Francigena and Routes”, promoted by the European Association of Via Francigena Ways, in collaboration with Associazione CIVITA. The term “pilgrim” is shared by many good will organisations which promote events, not only along the Francigena, but in the ever-growing network of national and European routes.“
