Association Via Francigena in Tuscia di Viterbo is celebrating its first birthday! The association was born from a dream of two pilgrims who have travelled the Camino de Santiago and the Via Francigena and wanted to embrace pilgrims’ legacy on the territory of Tuscia – an historic area in the region of Latium with a capital in the city of Vitebro.

The dream that has now become a reality thanks to sponsorship of a private enterprise ANCE, who assured the signage from Bagnaccio to Viterbo and to CAI – senior Italian alpine club, which prepared information panels in the historic centre of Viterbo.

The principal objective of ​​the Association is pilgrims’ welcome and development of relationship with them that, albeit short, leaves an indelible mark in everyone’s heart.

Numerous representatives of private sector and merchants joined the project and supported it with services dedicated to pilgrims, concretely demonstrating high quality of Viterbo hospitality.

Today the Association is growing and its projects are supported by a local association Friends of the Via Francigena, who take care of the route maintenance.
