Twelve easy and free walks to discover the territory, accompanied by AIGAE guides (Associazione italiana guide escursionistiche). “I Love Cammini Emilia-Romagna” will debut on 15th June, the slow-paced excursion calendar, to experience historical routes of Emilia Romagna from Piacenza to Rimini.

This first edition of the initiative proposes weekend outings from June to September to discover the wonderful historical and nature-filled routes of the area, with snacks dedicated to typical products and stops in the most fascinating places of worship: from the Basilica di San Luca to the Convent of Clarisse nel Montefeltro, to the Hermitage of Tizzano and the Galeata Abby in Romagna.

I Love Cammini Emilia-Romagna is promoted by APT Services for Emilia-Romagna, in collaboration with the Episcopal Conference of Emilia Romagna. The excursions were organised by Singoli Cammini in collaboration with AIGAE Association.

From the Cammino di San Francesco to the Via Romea Germanica Imperiale, to the Via della Lana and Seta to  the Cammino di Sant’Antonio, to the Via degli Abati and the Via Matildica del Volto Santo, to mention a few. “I Love Cammini Emilia-Romagna” is an opportunity to spend some time out of the city, in villages, churches and sanctuaries, surrounded by woods, lakes and fields, meeting new people and walking sections of the route together.

The first event will take hikers along the Via della Lana e della Seta. On 15th June, the participants will walk along a ring route of around 6km along a simple route, which begins at the historical centre of Castiglione dei Pepoli.

How to take part? All you need is a pair of trainers, preferably with a rigid sole, a hat, a rucksack and you’re already ready for a cost-free weekend with “I Love Cammini Emilia-Romagna”. The routes won’t go over 10km – most are only 7 or 8km long – and they are suitable for all. We’ll leave at around 9:30am and return in the afternoon. Each return time has been calculated so people may, if they want to, get public transport to get home. All you have to do is register at camminiemiliaromagna.it.
