2019 in Champlitte begins with the arrival of a new collaborator to support the activities of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) in France.
The renewal of the agreement between the municipality of Champlitte and he EAVF for 2019/2020 sees the employment of a new professional figure as part-time staff in Champlitte, dedicated to: promotion, European projects, communication in French, updates on hospitality and encouraging French entities to join the EAVF, which by the end of 2018 reached 17 municipalities.
The professional staff member was chosen after the European competition in which over 40 people participated. Leslie Maussang was chosen for the role; she already has a thorough knowledge of the Via Francigena and is experienced in the sphere of cultural tourism. As well as this, Leslie has shown a ton of passion and enthusiasm for her new role with the EAVF.
A lover of travel, after completing her studies in architecture and tourism, Leslie took off for Australia where she stayed for 10 months. After this experience, she worked at the Champlitte tourist information office where she learned about the Via Francigena through several projects, including a guided walk in Haute-Saône. In 2017 she began managing a rural museum. “I’m faced with a new challenge today – says Leslie – working on a European scale is very exciting and I’m happy to be a part of the development of the Via Francigena.”
Good luck, Leslie!
