A singer walking with his guitar, a Paralympic athlete ready to discover the Belpaese. Two different projects along the same road that links Canterbury to Rome. Jack Jaselli and Andrea Devicenzi will be the protagonists of two slow travels along the Via Francigena in Italy.
Jack and Andrew’s joint journey started on Friday 17th January in Fidenza, at the foot of the Cathedral. The two “ambassadors” of the Francigena were welcomed by the staff of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) with president, Massimo Tedeschi, and director, Luca Bruschi, together with Alberto Pugnetti of Radio Francigena who organised the meeting.
Pilgrim Passports, photos and interviews: everything ready. Jack Jaselli, 38 year old Milanese guitarist, will begin his journey in April. A slow month with his guitar across his shoulders from Pavia to Rome, 34 sections of walking tour with “live” stops to introduce his fourth album (the first entirely in Italian): “Torno a casa“.
“It’s a walking tour that will allow me to become a storyteller, just like my predecessor songwriters and, at the same time, a person who listens to what is happening on the road – says Jack Jaselli in the interview with Luca Bruschi, broadcast by Radio Francigena – I got my Pilgrim Passport today and have therefore been officially given this responsibility“.

After the experience from La Verna in Rome last year, the 45-year-old mental health coach, Andrea Devicenzi, returns to the road for a new challenge along the Via Francigena. The Paralympic cyclist and triathlon athlete will travel the Italian part of the European route.
“My adventure will start on 14th March from the Great St Bernard Pass to Rome with 4/5 days per month – confirms Andrea in the video interview with Radio Francigena – I fell in love with walking routes during an adventure in Peru and am always looking to share my story. This is a wonderful world and I’d like to get to know my extraordinary country“.
