Call for papers: “Cultural routes as resource for the enhancement and conservation of cultural heritage”

Between 25 and 27 May 2022 a session focused on cultural routes will take place in Reggio Calabria (Italy), aiming to debate on routes as a tool for innovation and tourism recovery after the recent pandemic crisis.

Anyone who has gained experience in this innovative field is welcome to participate in exchanging knowledge with the other participants.

Cultural routes, both in the European and global contexts, are demonstrating to be able to react to the pandemic crisis, often taking the situation as an opportunity for growth. They are continuously revising their governance and policy strategies, proposing innovative and creative activities and solutions, which include digital innovation in the field of historical heritage. In this sense, cultural routes are being the site of interesting experiments, and there is a lot of new knowledge to be shared among stakeholders.

This session invites managers and members of the respective Scientific Committees to share experiences and insights gained in the last few years in relation to resilience and adaptation to rapid change, and to the introduction of innovative projects and products in their activities.

The event will develop within the ICOMOS Days – Territories and Cultural Tourism at the 5th edition of New Metropolitan perspectives International Symposium, promoted by the LaborEst, PAU Department and Università Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria, with the support of the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
