From March to November. From December to February opening only by reservation for groups of at least three people, compatibly with ordinary and extraordinary maintenance works.
It is always advisable to book at least one day before arrival.
- How to arrive:
Arriving from S. Quirico d’Orcia along the s.s. Cassia, will find the hostel in the center of the village, on the left along the main road (50 meters after the Bar-restaurant “Il Parallelo”). Arriving from Castiglione d’Orcia, once reched the farmhouse “Acquasalsa” it has two options. The first is to follow the official route to the farm “Passalacqua” and here go down to the left towards the village of Gallina: past the bar you will find us on the right after 150 meters. The second is to make a detour by taking the “Strada del Pozzo” (on the left): you will reach the center of Gallina, entering the Cassia, right in front of the hostel.

The hostel is located in a late nineteenth-century building that has always been owned by the family. Over the years, its walls have seen an inn, a post office (which became a Post Office from the post-war period until the 1970s), the town school and a bar.
Gallina (in the past known as “Osteria Gallina”) is located near the ancient hospitale of Abricula (now “Le Briccole”), the 11th stop on Sigerico’s itinerary, and near the Renaissance post station of “La Scala”. Located on the 43rd parallel line right in the center of the Val d’Orcia, from it you can quickly reach all the main places of interest in the valley.
