The Cathedral is the most important building of worship in Albano Laziale. The origin of the cathedral coincides with the very spread of Christianity in the area, and is even traced back to the preaching of St Peter and St Paul. The first permanent church can be traced back to the year 326, while it was built between the 8th and 9th centuries.
