Museo permanente Macchine per Cucire Vivetta

The Vivetta Sewing Machine Museum in Robbio houses a unique collection of over 500 sewing machines ranging from the most famous brands, such as Singer and Necchi, to lesser known ones.
Giovanni Baldin, founder of the museum and the project, has been collecting these machines for 40 years. It all started thanks to the profession of his wife, Vivetta Marangon, who used sewing machines for work, while he did repairs. His desire to bring old and damaged machines back to life led him to create this extraordinary collection, which includes historical pieces dating back to the mid-19th century. Among the most valuable relics in this collection is the sewing machine created in honour of Queen Margherita of Savoy, together with the one used in the Mede textile workshops to sew the straw threads for the hats of the mondine.
