Salasco

Salasco

The village of Salasco is known for the lake and for the chalets. Salasco is a municipality of the Province of Vercelli and it is known for the lake, the sportfishing, the open-air swimming-pools and golf courses, where competitions and championships, also at a competitive level, take place. In the village there is a little fort, as in the hamlet of Selve. The film “Riso Amaro” by Giuseppe de Santis has been shot in Selve.

Both the castles have medieval origins and today they are estates. It is supposed that the name of the village takes origin from salo, that is high-class house, and from the suffix asco, which is typical of Ligurian regions.
