Exiting the Orbe leg (55. Urba), the trail moves towards Romainmôtier, passing through Bretonnières with its picturesque Roman church.  Immersed in the heart of the Nozon Valley, the monastic village of Romainmôtier is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland.  Inside this Cluniac site, with its abbatial church, the Via Francigena crosses paths with the Huguenot trail.  Before reaching La Sarraz, the trail crosses a well preserved landscape.  The itinerary and the railway leading to France thus pass at the foot of the La Sarraz castle.  While the path flanks the Mormont hill before following the course of the Venoge, the clock tower of the church of Cossonay stands out in the distance.
