Almatourism and the European Association of the Vie Francigene will publish a special issue devoted to the documentary sources relevant to the so called Romee Routes to the pilgrimages, and to the European and Italian shrines, that were and still are the destination for devotional travels (and not only) with particular reference to the Romee and Francigene, starting with the Sigerico’s Route: in fact, he firstly travelled to Rome in 990, when he was Archbishop of Canterbury, and wrote a short diary of returning home from Rome.
Articles, from different disciplines and also with a multidisciplinary approach, including mostly medieval history, cultural and cultural studies, geography, but also tourism, architecture, economics, communication, media, sociology, anthropology, statistics and urban studies, will be welcomed.
Authors are invited to submit original articles on the following topics, and others you will find in the attached file, with priority to sources and methodologies.

First notification to authors: August 1st, 2017
Submission of full papers: September 21st, 2017
Second notification to authors: November 1st, 2017
Expected publication: January, 2018
