There is great expectation in Champlitte for the general assembly of the European Association of the Vie Francigene (EAVF) of May 18th 2018.

The EAVF referent municipality for the development of the journey in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is ready to host the first European association meeting in France.

The appointment is divided into two days of events organised by the Patrimoine et Culture of Champlitte with the support of the City of Champlitte, the Office du Tourisme communueire and the EAVF.

The initiative starts the 18th May at 9:30am with a meeting on the theme of “The Via Francigena, development for our territories“, “The meeting of culture with culture” and “Cultural heritage and the Via Francigena”. The world of associations is a set of good practice along the Via Francigena in the four countries of the route.

In the afternoon the general assembly will take place with the participation of EAVF members and friends from Italy, France, Switzerland and England. After the assembly, the evening will continue with a visit to the Pascal Henriot organic wine cellars and dinner at 7pm. The whole day is brought to you by Radio Francigena.

Saturday the 19th May is the second day of the Via Francigena in Champlitte, from 10:30am the Balade Gourmande will begin, a gastronomic walk from the castle to the vineyards of the Pâturie – Augustinian convent. The concerts and performances of the folk group will follow. The cultural activities planned will enrich the Francigena party with photographic exhibitions and guided tours to explore Champlitte and its castle.

This is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the French Via Francigena, the territory and the commitment of communities for the development of the Council of Europe’s cultural itinerary.
