EAVF supports the initiative “Open Monasteries in Emilia-Romagna”

A unique opportunity to visit churches, abbeys and places of faith along the paths and pilgrimage routes on 17 and 18 October in the framework of the initiative “Open Monasteries in Emilia-Romagna“.

Participants of the event will discover religious and architectural heritage of the Emilia Romagna Region also along the Via Francigena in:

Parma: the treasures of the Monastery of San Giovanni

Fidenza: Medieval music at the Cathedral of San Donnino

Terenzo: The churches along the Via Francigena

Fornovo: Santa Maria Assunta Church

Two events at the Convent of San Martino Maggiore in Bologna are not to be missed:

– Saturday 17 October “The Convent of San Martino Maggiore and a lecture on theology” (Visit to the Convent and the large fresco of 104 square meters). First visit at 10.00 – 11.10, second visit at 11.20 – 12.30

– Sunday 18 October Concert “Invitation to See the Stars” sacred Baroque music on the Cipri organ dated 1556. Part one on 16.50 – 17.25 with Fabrizio Scolaro, second part on 17.35 – 18.10 by Matteo Bonfiglioli.
