Thanks to the contribution of the European Community the stretch of the Via Francigena between Fucecchio and St. Pierino, was recovered and transformed into a footpath. For several weeks, in fact, you can walk from St. Pierino to Fucecchio alongside the main road in the stretch between Cecconi street and the bridge over the Arno without running the risk of falling under a car or even worse under a truck.
