The European Association of Via Francigena Ways (EAVF) expresses its sympaty for Paris and France for the fire last Monday, which burned part of Notre Dame Cathedral, UNESCO heritage.

The EAVF president, Massimo Tedeschi, stated:

“The president and the Executive Board of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways and all the Francigena family share the dismay of the Parisian and French population for the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. “Fluctuat nec mergitur” is the historic motto of Paris, which even on this very sad occasion shows the spirit and responsiveness of the whole population, which the whole world embraces, despite our cultural and religious differences. We are all French today.“
