The website of the European Association of the Via Francigena ways (EAVF) www.viefrancigene.org has been the EAVF online reference point since 2004 and has served to provide all necessary information concerning the Via Francigena and its practical details.

During 2019 the website was visited more than 1,000,000 times.

Today an extra step has been taken to facilitate an information access on the website for those researching about the historic route of Sigeric.

The official AEVF website has undergone a graphic and functional restyling and now provides renewed design and an enhanced user experience to the Via Francigena amateurs. The website facilitates online retrieval of information, news, contacts and practical information necessary to conduct a journey or to enter the Via Francigena network. From today it will be quicker and more intuitive for the user to navigate between different sections and identify areas of interest.

In terms of content, the website remains an official trilingual reference (English, French and Italian) of the journey and its preparation: one can find official maps of the route on foot and by bicycle, lists of accommodations, Pilgrims’ Passports, useful services for walkers and cyclists, critical issues, cultural heritage along the way, ongoing projects and many more.

Weekly news concerning main updates on the Via Francigena, cultural itineraries and slow tourism are regularly published.

Finally, the section dedicated to trips organized along the route will be enriched with new indications and proposals, thanks to growing collaborations with associations and private partners, following popular demand.

The renewal of the website is indeed an essential effort and commitment of the Association to constantly evolve its role and follow up with digital communication.
