Trail Angels in action on the Via Francigena in Piedmont! A group of volunteers from the Associazione Amici della Via Francigena di Santhià  (Association Friends of the Via Francigena of Santhià) together with Mr Marcello Vallese went on a field mission to take care of the route maintenance in the Biella area.

After cleaning the route between Cavaglià and Roppolo, the maintenance and the signposting work on the path will be done across the plain of the Santhià-San Germano during a walk scheduled for Wednesday 18 September. The volunteers will return then to the hills on Wednesday, September 25, checking the route from Roppolo to the provincial border.

The initiative, sponsored by the European Association of the Via Francigena Ways (AEVF), is part of the “Trail Angels” project. The “Trail Angels” are local associations committed to control a stretch of the Via Francigena route, verifying its safety and maintenance and, where necessary, working on signposting. These activities are complementary to the actions carried out by the local municipalities.

The flyers of the events are attached.
