The European Association of the Via Francigena ways (EAVF) signed a collaboration agreement with Grom, a renowned ice cream producer which won hearts of thousands of gourmands all over the world. Grom ice cream has numerous outlets, many of which are located along the Via Francigena, ready to sweeten pilgrims’ journey with a 15% discount on ice creams!

A walking trip teaches us to enjoy little things in life. Pilgrims challenged by long stages, especially in hot summers, are perfectly aware of a great pleasure of a glass of water or even better – an ice cream in the end of the walk.

That is why the EAVF signed the agreement with Grom to provide pilgrims with a 15% discount on ice cream upon presentation of a pilgrim passport. In addition, you can stamp your passport in GROM sales points along the Via Francigena.

Grom’s story begins in 2003 when two friends, Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom, inaugurated the first ice cream shop in the center of Turin. The first of a long chain: today Grom has ice cream parlours in main Italian cities and other countries around the world.

Their mission is to bring pure and authentic Italian ice cream to as many people as possible all over the world.  This aspiration gave birth to ice creams – made with high quality fresh milk, eggs from free-range hens and the best raw materials – and sorbets with fruit harvested when fully ripe.

The company says: “We are proud of our collaboration with the EAVF because we are deeply linked to our country and traditions, and because a walking trip is a journey of discovery and savouring. We hope that pilgrims will enjoy our ice creams prepared with a great respect to the nature and its raw materials. This is one of pilgrims’ small pleasures during their trip.”
